Death | August 1995 |
Title | Countess von Lahnstein Marquess di Balbi |
Spouse(s) | Johannes von Lahnstein † (widowed) |
Francesca von Lahnstein (née di Balbi) was the first wife of Johannes von Lahnstein, and had a child with him - Carla von Lahnstein. However, she also had an affair with a man named Adrian Degenhardt, which resulted in two extramarital children, Leonard von Lahnstein and Constantin von Lahnstein, whom Francesca raised with Johannes as if they were their own (except for Constantin who was later sent to Italy to his aunt Carlotta di Balbi, the sister of Francesca).
Some time after both Johannes' and Francesca's death, her sister Maria di Balbi came to Düsseldorf, and there she pretended to be Francesca. Even though the family needed convincing and time, eventually they believed her, and were very disappointed when they found out the truth, especially Carla and Constantin.
